Let me extend a warm welcome to my practice.

I want to hear your story, where you want to go and the obstacles you are facing.

Offering a moment to slow down, I support children, adolescents, teens, parents and individuals in a safe space to look at your story from a different perspective. Together we work to develop new skills allowing for a pause where choices become available.

As a child and parent therapist, I draw heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a research-supported treatment focusing on patterns of thinking that might be amplifying one’s distress. This therapy is based on the idea that a person's mood is directly related to their thought patterns. It is intended to help clients recognize negative ways of thinking. CBT allows for investigating the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

Want to be a calm, confident parent?

Parenting at any stage can surface unexpected emotions. You may find yourself yelling, lashing-out, feeling anxious, demanding perfection of yourself and/or your children.

The pressure and demands of parenting can, at times, negatively impact other areas of life such as marriage, job, personal friendships, self-esteem and confidence. You might find yourself repeating a parenting style you never wanted to pass onto your children.

I am here to encourage you while you explore new approaches and become more skillful in achieving a personal connection with yourself and/or your child. Through the use of attachment theory, solution-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and a whole family systems approach; I can help you discover yourself as a calm, confident parent.

Child Therapy

As a child therapist, I blend my experience of developmental psychology and behavioral health with cognitive behavioral therapy to treat a wide range of concerns presented in children and family systems.

My approach is strategy oriented and parent-child relational to create connection and increase positive interactions for positive behavioral skill building. Children learn to identify the connection between their emotional reactions, mind-body experiences, relational interactions and their outcomes.

Walk & Talk Therapy

Let’s take our talk outside. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to therapy. Movement helps support body regulation which can increase ability for therapeutic conversation and enrich the client experience. Face to face, in close quarters, therapy can feel uncomfortable. Walk and talk therapy can relieve some of that pressure.

ADHD & Social Emotional Learning

You might be asking yourself, “Why is maintaining regulation harder for my child than others?” “Why are teachers struggling to meet my child’s needs in the classroom for optimal learning that meets their learning style?” “Why is bedtime and sleep such a struggle?”

Many parents have these questions and labor to understand what steps to take to provide support for their child. Through clinical testing and assessments, classroom observation and collaboration with teachers and school counselors, I can provide focused therapeutic support and strategies to increase skills that meet your child’s individual needs.

How I can help.

I encourage and embrace neurodiversity as well as understanding the unique ways children and adolescents seek regulation. While meeting your child/adolescent’s social emotional needs; I provide support and connection through sensory disturbances and struggles with behavioral regulation, along with the navigation of IEP goals, 504 Plans, and speech therapy.

TEENS

Teenagers differ from adults in how they behave, solve problems and make decisions.

Building on their natural strengths, I work with teens to develop tools and coping strategies that improve communication and life skills. Our goal together as a team is for the teen to develop internal resources and gain autonomy in order to improve emotional regulation and general functioning and help them to be able to overcome adversity. Through the use of individual and family therapy, I can support teens and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties at home, school and/or their social environments.
